One of the reasons I always liked to draw monsters and fantasy creatures is that there’s no right or wrong: I can make up proportions, I give them any number of limbs, eyes and ears. No matter what I do — everything is correct.

Try this: draw a car, or a flower, or any object, it doesn’t matter how good or bad. Then add big googly eyes and a mouth with spiky teeth somewhere, and almost inevitably you have a nice drawing. If you want to take it a step further add a speech balloon that says “Howdy!” or “Grrr…!” or “Nietzsche”.
This book is not supposed to teach you how to draw. If anything, it should inspire you to pick up a pen and doodle away!

The release of the book is accompanied by a new letterpress edition “Popsicle”. More info here.
